I'm Fig, but my real name's Savana Jazmin (there's no story behind Fig; I've just been using it since I was in elementary school). I'm American and determined to make it into the Ringling School of Art and Design -- a wonderful college in Sarasota, Florida -- and then become a paid illustrator. I'm a bit of a busy-body (border line work-a-holic), so you can imagine that I spend a lot of time getting ready for my future. I'm not one to relax. You can bet I'm serious about what I do. As a grown artist, i think i need to start drawing from life more to get a good feel of what things look like and how to draw them properly, Including anatomy and clothing. I like to work on facial expressions and i make faces in the mirror sometimes to see how things look. Its a fun practice.

my inspirations are: James Dean, dolce and gabbana, calvin klein, old 1950's photography, herb ritts, michael gondry, cool music videos, arthur rackham, jude law, uma thurman, any movie that's *funky, any music that can be danced to and makes you want to drive really fast like the futureheads and franz ferdinand. also, trees and water really inspire the shit out of me because of their shape. they're so flowy and beautiful, it's like mother nature's art. she totally kicks all of our asses.
i like sunsets because i'm just sappy like that.

i'm gonna be an animator and i'll get people to respect animation. i've talked to a lot of people that don't like animation, and no matter how serious the story is, they say they just can't take is seriously.
so whatever, i'll kick their ass with my movie in the year 2011 or so.

my favorite animators are: glenn keane, jesus kryst (french guy), xav, morimoto, along with just about every othert japanese person in japan because they just seem like they can naturally be good at drawing and animating. naturally fucking prodigies!

that is all. i currently live the daily-life pattern of: wake up, brush teeth, drive to work while eating protein bar, get to work, work, work, eat, work, get home, get phone call from parent, argue, hang up, do something productive, get phone call that i have to go back to work, go back to work, work, finish working, get home, sleep. repeat x ....until i move to vancouver.
