Robin, awesome work as always.

Love the energy you FILL everything with. Even simply "still" designs and illustrations have so much life to them. They jsut feel like they are a still frame in an animation that's on pause. Very hard to find that in peoples work.

not only that but it's all fun as shit to look at. Im never bored. Even some of the "less" developed stuff just feels done to me and ready to jump off the page.

Sorry for all the ass-kissing, but I just LOVE to look at fun fucking work. It looks like you obviously have a blast making your art.

Consider me down for a copy or two, gonna make the purchase alter this week and snag a couple to send around the shop here at work.

wow this is great. i wouldnt even know where to begin to make coherent art out of all the colors you use, but you managed to do it so well.

But I sometimes do get lost in the colors too...just desaturate everything and start over. It helps :smile:

Awesome stuff! I really dig the organic feeling of the robots (sounds a bit stupid... robot <=> organic?? ... anyhow).
How do u choose the colors, do u have a plan from the beginning, or just experience, or..... blah i don't know?!?!? I suck at coloring, maybe u can give me a tip or two.

1. I believe that the key to good coloring is understanding the dynamics of color itself. So study the theory and practice a lot with that in mind. This nice tutorial me a lot when I started --> http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut. ... relativity

2. What also helps is using photo reference when choosing colors. You can also make a color-inspiration/photo sheet for bigger projects, or to figure out your out prefered art-style.

3. And keep the amount of different colors you use low when you start a new picture. Also start with desaturated colors (almost grey tones) When you got the basics down you can start adding more colors when needed.

Im so glad that Megaman piece made it into the book. So hard to tell what's gonna get in and what won't, some amazing pieces seem to not make the cut and some garbage seems to end up in it, gahhh.... but yah, love it.

The second to last piece is pretty awesome, but it's hard to tells hat size you're aiming to have the skeleton guy be. Im guessing 20 feet or larger? Seems like a lower angle on him would've really helped push his size up, but if he's supposed to be more like a 12 foot good then I think it works.

And that tank piece is great, can't wait to watch the demo all the way through.

Stoked to see an update from ah, always look onward to seeing more art from you.

And Igo; you're right about that giant robot :happy:

Looking back at it, I think his size is hard to tell because he has the same shadow-contrast as the girls in front- and that would never happen in reality I guess. So I could lower the contrast by simply pulling a blue gradient over him. Putting him at a different angle would also do the trick...but it's more work :smilebf:

And I know what you mean about the megaman artbook. I get the feeling that the publisher was trying to a maximum variety of artstyles & compositions in the book, instead of only trying to find 'the best artwork'. I guess this piece made it because it shows hardman (not the most popular character) and megaman being pink (as in the game when switching weapons). And (almost?) nobody changed the color of megaman...so I guess this stood out and that might have been the reason why it got into the book. ...or they just picked artworks while being blindfolded...who knows ? :lolbf:
