I found out about Satellite Soda from when I went to comic-con. Thank you everyone who was there for introducing me to the forum and for all the great advice! =D

I draw gross stuff like this:

Oh man its alex! Dude excellent choice on prints once again ahha, you really made my day by choosing that. And now you've made my day by posting! good job man!

anyways these gross dudes you did are great. Don't be afraid to post up more of them man, you can show more than one image :P Also you can show your comic inking stuff as well for critique and what not (since you said you're down with it and all).

Anyways like we said before, its pretty clear your passion lies with this style of art, so you should absolutely try injecting it into your comic pages as well. It will make them so much better and more sincere.

oh, and welcome to the forums! KEEP POSTING!!!!!

Awww! Thank you!!! And you just made my day! Haha I'm so happy that you remember me!

I'll definitely be posting more stuff very very soon!

It just sucks because my pieces are very large and i don't have a big scanner and my camera sucks... so I have to work on that first haha.

Thanks for everything by the way! You guys are awesome.

oh ya i know how that is, ya if the pieces are that big (past 14x17) cameras prolly the best bet you have. Once you go to college though (cuz you said you had just finished HS right?) you will be able to use their scanners, and im sure they have a jumbo one somewhere. Anyways until then large bed scanners are pricey, so you're best bet is pics - but hey - pics of em are better than us never seeing em, just try to avoid blur

but ya keep posting - and of course we all remember you ahah

you mean people asking us to review or going around ourselves and getting em reviewed? A little of both actually

as for cameras me and stone use the same camera I know, its decent enough to take photos of whatever (not like super high grade camera but definitely good enough for pics of whatever) and i think they run at like 50-100 so thats not so bad. Its called a Nikon Coolpix, and in my experience has been a fairly good solution to my camera problem.

While the style of art isn't necessarily my cup of tea you definitely made the figures creepy and weird. The linework is all good and the colors add to the "grossness" so I guess you succeeded. Keep it up and yes post more.

YOU MADE IT TO THE FORUMS! Werd... Great meeting you at the con Alex, and great stuff man!

Im especially digging the gross stuff outa your portfolio, and your ink work, you get into more brush type inking yet at all?

I always find it more appealing, when people are going for gross (which I do too) go for what looks cool first. Personally, there's always something more shallow to peoples work when they go for gross just to go for gross, and there's always more life to peoples work when they go for what looks cool and it happens to be gross, that make sense? Dont just TRY to gross people out, make what you think looks cool, and if it happens to gross people out, more power to yah.

Definitely work on some life drawing stuff man. Learning the human form, anatomy, etc, will only enhance this kind of work.

Thanks for coming by the booth, buying our shit, and coming on the forums man, I hope to see you develop a lot over the next year.

THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Yeah to me, my art isn't gross at all hahaha. I didn't think it was until people told me... I dunno haha.

Thank you so much for all your advice and support, you guys are fantastic. I'll be attending an art class at my community college and I heard the teacher there is amazing, so I am quite excited =D

And yes I am going to pick up some brushes asap so i can start practicing inking with them. I never thought of inking that way until I talked to people at the con hahaha I'm so out of the loop =P

I'll try and post more things soon!

Sup Alex!! I guess we already gave you most of our feedback at the con, but I just wanted to chime in as well and say FUCK YEAH you made it to the boards! Your gross out monsters were definitely your stronger suit from what I remember, just seemed to suit your art much better. Not meaning to say you should only ever draw disgusting wrinkly but oddly semi cute figures all the time, but rather that this particular style and approach just seemed to be your voice much more than anything else. Keep it up, post more!

After seeing the thread title and the second image, I was like "HOLY FUCK!!! Alex Pardee is posting on our forums" haha

Love what you have going on here and at your DeviantArt page, definitely got the "peculiarly awesome" vibe of the previous mentioned Alex, but its clear your doing your own thing at the same time.

Would love to see more from this portfolio these other guys are banging on about. Hell! I would just love to see you post more stuff!

Welcome to the boards man!

Nicely done. The second one looks like it needs a tampon. Good work though.

I definitely think this is cathartic. Biggest crit I have is that I would love to see this stretch over a longer landscape. I want to see where more of the blood/fluid is going, just because the shape/dynamics of it is so interesting.

Good stuff! It's always glad to embrace your work during tough times.

I agree with Shane, I think this would benefit greatly from a more open composition. Other than that, this looks rad, I love the little hearts in the splatter, nice touch!
