Hello all good satellitesoda members! Don't think many remember me, i was only active here for a few months. I spent more time on gingerbox if someone remembers that place :p I kind of lost my way and didn't do much art for quite some time but now some time ago i have started doing more and more again which feels great! Wanted to get back into the artcommunity as well since it often helps me to develop more.
Well here are some of my recent work. As the title implies, please tear me to bits! :)

Those portraits a sick. Especially the first portrait. You captured the expression and mood really, really well. It's got some intrigue to it.

The folks walking in the park, is way too flat. I think that the background is too flat as it is but those characters are so stark against it that it's really flattening it more. You've got to remember to use your cools to push things back, warms to bring them up. As much detail as you've got going on there some distance blurring wouldn't come across too forced as well.

Really like the work though.

Did a quick tweaked version to show you what I mean on that walk piece.

Thanks for the comment and feedback :) I really see what you mean with the cool and warm colors! Big thanks for the tweak on the picture as well, really helps to see the visual difference. I'm not very adept at painting, especially digital so i'm trying to expand on that so i think this will help me alot to get depth in there :) Started on another environment piece and tried to think about cool and warm colors but after awhile i started hating the piece so it got scrapped, will keep trying though! Thanks!

Here is a concept piece(wip) for like this robin hood inspired comic thing i have been thinking a little about.
Any criticism is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Got some great stuff in this thread, nice to see a mix of the realistic stuff and the more stylised pics.
With the new one, something that I think is letting it down is the way you've drawn the facial features. I think it would look a lot better if you worked on developing a better 'shorthand' method for the features, like hinting at the forms rather than just the point for the nose etc. Apart from that though, nice line work overall. Especially with wrapping the clothes some form.

Man you really have some nice stuffs here. Great style comes great art, I can sense some uniqueness in your lines and shape. But as I can see, anatomy is a pain for all of us, we all had that hard times with drawing human bodies. But I believe more work, more trainning will fix that problem in no time. And I think I'd love to see you loosen your lines a little bit more, it'll make your shape even more cooler in the way you're going. Lovely, my friend :).

@Ken Thanks alot man and i do agree with you, i have some problems with faces. Thats pretty much why i did like those portraits before to get more of a feel for it, still hasn't been able to really translate it into a more stylized style. I will try to push faces even more and not take the lazy way out :) thanks dude!
@splendidriver Thanks m8, i know anatomy can be a pain :p and i often go alittle blind while i work and miss obvious mistakes so any pointers are always a good help. Thanks for the comment dude! will keep on trying :)

Ok here is a continuation of the concept from earlier and a wip for the new contest!!

This is the rough sketch for the contest piece, had a really hard time getting a composition and pose that i liked, decided to post it for criticism before i get to far ahead on the piece. Really want the final result to be great so give me all you got :) thanks!

The Badfunk looks forced in to that space. Push the angle and dynamics of him and his grip on (assuming) Kid Missile. The buildings aren't an afterthought, but once you've got Badfunk down, you should have him destroying the buildings as well. Like his right elbow taking out a big section of that building. Giants monsters that swing their weight around should break everything.

Agree with DM here, and giant monsters REALLY feel like giant monsters with lower camera angles.

Fun idea though man, keep at it!

Thanks a lot for the comments guys, i tried to keep working on that piece but i just couldn't get the feel i wanted to it and Igo's comment about the angle really stuck so i made a whole new approach that i liked better. Not completely done yet, going to rework the face. Any criticism i can get before i finish it would be awesome!

Great new composition man, much more powerful, and such a better sense of scale. It would been rad to see his fingers become individual tentacles as well, you seem to be going ape shit with them everywhere else haha.

wow... i just got home and opened up ps to finish this piece and noticed that for some reason almost the entire lineart is gone... for some reason it didn't save.. will have to start it all over.. i'm so mad right now..
Thanks for comment though Igo if i have the time i might try to get some tentacles going on that hand aswell.. will be though now with so much time lost..

/Edit
phuu sucked to redraw the entire lineart but i made it through somehow :p added some more tentacles :) redid the face alittle aswell, still not all happy with it but i'm pretty tired now and have to sleep to get to school tomorrow. Not sure if i'm to add some kind of background but it's hard with that angle.
Any final tips or comments how i can make it really finished would be awesome :)

thanks

Does he have short-shorts?

Anyways, i think it looks great man. Maybe a bit too safe with Badfunk's shapes, but it came out really nice in the end!

haha hell yeah, because he is funky :) Wanted him to look like big and scary but kind and funky :p

@Kanta, thanks i think you might be right. Maybe i should have pushed it alittle more overall, the shapes and the energy of the poses to stand a chance in the competition :p
