Rollbar idea. Jeep Wrangler alt-mode
More like this, please. I don't mean draw more Transformers but I want to see you implement the sense of underlying shape and weight that we see here in the rest of your drawings. Also, the character's got a nice and distinctive silhouette going on, helped in no small part by the wheels on the shoulders.
I'd like to see you mess around with your line weights a bit more as well, that Rollbar pic is hurt by the fact that a lot of details are sort of getting muddled together (the arms and head, in particular). Now, this could be down to the fact that you're emulating the movie school of Transformer design but I'd suggest keeping an eye on that.
Also, your comic. I like the general idea but your panel layouts are a tad messy, especially on the second page. They read more like pages where you're quickly jotting down ideas for an actual
comic page to be done at some point in the future. Remember that the most important thing when doing a comic page is to treat the entire page as a whole, rather than treating it as a series of panels. Granted, it is
a series of panels, but each panel should be treated as one small section of a whole.
For example, I like to think of panels as a series of 'music beats.' Does the beat work? Could that panel be taken out, or do I add another panel here or here? Also remember that the 'gutter' (the space between panels) is equally as important: two panels that are close together will read much
differently than two panels that are spaced further apart.
Going back to that second page, there is actually a fairly interesting layout (I like how it sort of zig zags from left to right down the page) going on but it's hurt by the panel layout and composition. Also, please don't take offense, but I'd love to see you do art that is readable without
text (the second panel with the guy massing his armies? Nigh-on unreadable sans text). If your reader has to have their hand held and lead through the page mainly by the text then you're going about things the wrong way. If your comic can be read and understood without
text, then you have succeeded.
Oh, and finally, keep doing drawing from life. You draw too many characters simply standing around in similar poses, life drawing will encourage you to draw more dynamic poses for your characters.
Keep 'em coming!
