In the words of my Wise Old Mother - "You draw one more time on lined paper and IMA CUT YOU."

Hahaha, ok ok, so she didn't exactly say it like that, but...do yer work justice and draw on some blank paper! Unless you're making schematics or something, of course. Also, she will murder me for calling her Old.

Welcome to the jam! Lessee some full body characters of your stuff! =D

Uno: No lined paper ;)
Dos: You really need to start looking more into anatomy and face structure.
Tres: Forget style and forget trying to draw "This guy's eyes" and "That dude's noses". Style comes by itself, you can't force it and you can't try to make a mishmash of several stuff within the same genre and cram it in.
Quatro: I know, I know, you probably love anime/manga, and you really want your style to follow the great masters', But learn the bases first. They all did it too. i'm not sure, but I believe Japan has mandatory Art Class till High School, College or something and I think they go kinda in-depth in those, so all the Great Manga artists started with the basics. It's very important.
Cinco: Show us more!

About the picture, at the risk of sounding like a douche, it looks like a CARICATURE of the anime style. Eyes are too big, with too many "shinies", hair is reeeeeally generic, Face shape is incredibly standardized and not very organic (straight 90º in some spots). Also, ears too small, I could go on :(

PS.: Guuuys, am I supposed to just not say anything bad during FaceMelting February? Guide me xD

Either he's got no hair on top of his head, or his hair takes up that ENTIRE piece of lined paper.

I've gotta agree with what's been said here - Kanta-Kun especially hit the nail right on the head. You won't get much better drawing only anime busts. Anime is a set of very rigorous instructions of how to interpret, but true skill comes from observation. Why not take some time to draw some people or objects from life? It may seem boring, but it will only do you a world of good.

If you have trouble transcending into different types of practice, take a look at all the different artists who excel at anime and manga to give you ideas. Though there always feels like a similarity from style to style, there are artists who definitely hold their own, or really make something from the look. But there is always one thing all the best guys have: rock-solid, god-like draftsmanship. I will show ye:

Pick your brain apart. Pick your drawing apart. Don't go for final line, just really DIG into the forms in your drawing. The anime look can go on top of any well drafted figure and you'd be set. But that well drafted figure has to be there! =)

I...I want a nana who has horses =(

Horses are fun, I wanna see more of them from you! And anatomy is fun, even just copying the images from the books you learn a lot. Just plain muscular anatomy is great.

Oh and don't worry, I reference from google image searches all. The. Time.
