Hello dudes,

Sorry to dump all over your forum. I'm in a quest. For glory. And perhaps freelance gigs, you never know.

Last time I logged in was for PopGun vol. 4, where I proudly participated.

Well, here are some PvZ fan art. It all started with a pitch, but I got carried away. The pitch failed, but the art lives on.

First the guns, with flavor text:

Image

Peamann &Co "Green Marksman IV"
The Green Marksman IV - Root handle and dust cover with a crappy wooden grip, glued together with a standard beige duct tape , steel trigger and trigger guard. Peashooter Repeater© barrel. Undead repealing guarantee. May produce funny noises while delivering green justice.

Image

Peamann &Co "Frostbite"
Highly Experimental, takes a single Frost Peashooter barrel to new heights. Cold-proof grip, frost-free trigger.

Image

Baron David Twinkle's Cattail Rifle
The Baron used to hunt elephants with that unholy contraption of a rifle. Catnip not included.

Image

Armadillo Tactical - Needle Spitter Shotgun
Compact Cactus barrel. Pump handle to reload. Explosive at close range. Avoid regular cleaning.

Image

Danzel Lily's Custom Sniper Rifle
She was a lady that hated close contacts, always taking her business from afar, hence this marvel of zombie killing weaponry was born.

Image

Flora Engineering Solutions - Peagoo
The Peagoo was born mainly to solve practical problems, like how to glue together an archway to a wall. When the engineer realized that the Romans came to that solution thousands of years ago, he decided to invest time on Zombies. Slow zombies walking even slower, now that's funny.

And following, some more concepts:

The boy was kind of based on PopCap's art style. With a twist.

That's an walking onion btw.

That's also a walking onion, but vector-like. And it's a boxer.

Now, zombies!

And next, some Alice: Madness Returns. I worked on the cinematics ( general direction, storyboards, art guide, and some scripting).

That's all! Cheers and thank you for watching.

I've been trying to dump stuff too everywhere too. Your stuff it pretty cute, obviously you're skilled at reinterpreting existing artwork, but I think there might be something more you can do to show off your chops and creativity playing around with those elements than just rendering everything.

aww man, nice and polished! I like the gun concepts a lot ... way cute. ^3^
apart from that I think the graphite renderings of the mouse and the hare, so good! they have that bit of roughness that the eye needs so the gaze doesn't bounce off the image from too much shinyness, feel like you could maybe use some textures or just generally a looser approach sometimes with your stuff. it'd be nice to see more sketches!

Thank you for the replies folks.

@SUPERAWESOMERIC I know what you mean, but when it comes to someone else's IP, there is just this much you can play around with. The amount of restriction often surpass the amount of freedom you may have while working with solid brands.

@Mara I hear you. I agree, to give something more to imagination, but I often leave it to my own sketches.

MAn, Popgun, did Vol 5 ever get going?

And holy shit man, SO BUMMED I missed this thread in my hiatus. TOTALLY digging on those weapons, easily my favorite stuff in here. The rest is great too, but props are always something over-looked, and often times, super hard-core "conceptart.org"ed out, and this is a breathe of FRESH air for all that cliche'ed-out stuff. TOTALLY love it, holy crap, seriously, really awesome unique stuff.

Sucks the game didnt fly, but man, I could totally see this stuff applied to something, its too good to not be utilized somehow. If Sideshow were in the biz of making games, Id be all over this stuff.

Great work man, please keep posting man, loving what you got going on here.
